Philadelphia-style Homemade Chocolate Ice Cream (Without Machine)

There is nothing quite like a bowl of homemade chocolate ice cream! And the best part? Whipping some up for yourself is SO much easier than it sounds. We recommend opting for a Philadelphia-style chocolate ice cream recipe, like this one, because Philly-style ice cream does not call for raw eggs. That way, you can still enjoy all the chocolatey goodness without worrying about the risks of uncooked eggs. Win, win!

PHILADELPHIA-STYLE HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM

SERVING SIZE:
Makes 1 quart of ice cream (6 ZOKU Servings)

INGREDIENTS:
1 ½ cups whole milk
1 ½ cups heavy cream
¾ cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup cocoa powder
1 tbsp vanilla extract
¼ tsp Kosher salt

DIRECTIONS:
1. Whisk together the milk, cream, sugar, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt until the cocoa powder is thoroughly combined.
2. Cover and chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
3. Remove your homemade chocolate ice cream mixture from the fridge and stir again to thoroughly blend the cocoa into the liquid.
4. Pour 5 oz into ZOKU’s Ice Cream Maker and follow the instructions included with your device for churning and freezing.
